Contract review workspace with annotated pages, a laptop, and a desk lamp in a London office

Clear steps from first call to signed contract

No surprises. No jargon without explanation.

How does an engagement with Caldera Contracts actually unfold? We keep it plain, direct and properly paced, so you know who’s doing what, when it happens and what comes next.

Direct point of contact

You’ll speak to the person handling your matter. Simple. Why make it harder?

Transparent scopes

Fixed-fee or retainer options are set out early, with the assumptions shown in writing.

Execution-ready output

We finish with a clean document you can sign, share and rely on without guesswork.

What the first conversation feels like

A calm start, not a sales pitch.

We begin with a short enquiry and a focused scoping call. What matters, what’s urgent, and what must be protected? Those are the questions we ask first, because a clean brief saves time later and usually saves money too.

You’ll leave that call knowing the likely route, the preferred turnaround and any issues we need to flag early. No mysterious handovers. No waiting days for the same answer twice.

Step 01

Initial enquiry & scoping call

Tell us what’s happening, what the contract needs to achieve and where the pressure points are. Why guess when a fifteen-minute call can clarify the brief?

Step 02

Fixed-fee or retainer quote

We issue a written quote that spells out scope, likely timetable and the commercial basis for the work. Clear numbers. Clear boundaries.

Step 03

Drafting, review or negotiation begins

Once instructed, we get to work on the paper itself. That might mean drafting from scratch, reviewing an incoming draft or negotiating changes with the other side. Either way, we’re on the detail.

What you get here

  • Marked-up clauses with practical commentary
  • Plain-English explanations where terms need context
  • Negotiation strategy aligned to your commercial position

Step 04

Client feedback & revision rounds

We work through your comments carefully, keep revisions organised and flag trade-offs honestly. Need a clause softened? Need a line held firm? Say the word.

Step 05

Final sign-off and delivery

We send the final version in execution-ready form, along with any notes you need for signing or circulation. Neat files. No chasing.

Quick questions we get asked

Fast answers, before you even ask twice.

Need a plain answer on turnaround, geography or direct negotiations? We’ve grouped the common ones here, and the fuller resource library sits one click away. Why make a simple thing huntable?

How long does a standard review take?

For many business contracts, we can turn around an initial review within a few working days, depending on volume and urgency. If timing is tight, tell us early and we’ll be honest about what’s realistic.

Do you work with businesses outside London?

Yes. We regularly support clients across the UK and beyond by email, phone and video call. Location doesn’t need to slow the work down, does it?

Can you negotiate directly with our supplier?

We can. When authorised, we’ll handle the conversation with the other side, keep you updated on the pressure points and bring back the practical options for approval.

Still unsure?

Ask us the oddball question.

Every deal has its quirks. If your situation doesn’t fit the usual pattern, send a note to [email protected] and we’ll tell you what the next sensible step looks like.
